Power Planning for Rack-Scale Phone Farms

Power mistakes show up as breaker trips, voltage sag, or fans running at max 24/7. Plan before racks arrive. **Start with quoted load:** Each proforma can include a load note per chassis — actual watts depend on node type, charge state, and workload. Treat catalog examples as planning ranges until your BOM is signed. **Facility checklist:** - Dedicated circuit vs shared office power - 110 V vs 220–240 V region match on PSU SKU - UPS scope: control PC only vs whole rack (buyer decision) - Room HVAC vs chassis fan kit — both matter in summer **Multi-box racks:** Stagger inrush if several PSUs switch on together. Label circuits per stack so maintenance does not drop an entire row. **Cooling linkage:** Higher sustained load needs matched fan kit and exhaust path — see our cooling guide for airflow basics. Send target box count and region voltage with your RFQ; we align PSU and fan lines on the written quote.
